Metrowear Rocks The Runway

Last week, I went to the Metrowear Rocks the Runway show at the Edsa Shangri-La Hotel. Music has always been my constant inspiration for almost everything that I do and when I found out that bands were going to play, I got even more excited. Why haven’t I taken a clue with the event name itself to begin with….

Mak Tumang’s collection reminded me of Lady GaGa’s You and I music video. This collection combined the air and the sea with the use of feathers, beads and seaweed colors.

One thing I’ve noticed about Francis Libiran is that he loves to play with lines.

Jerome Lorico’s collection had a bit of Scotland and Corillera Mountain tribe in it. I just love how the checkered skirts draped.

Another one by Lorico. His outfits were busy all over but had a harmony that worked brilliantly.

Last night, Gwen, Rapha and I went to 7th High for the private showing of Francis Libiran’s America’s Next Top Model episode. I was actually so lucky to have had witnessed the Libiran team work on the pieces they sent to ANTM.

So here’s the thing… I had my camera with me but left it inside the car. I know.

Backstage| Weddings at the Peninsula

I was invited by Francis Libiran (via my friend Gwen) to take photos of his gowns and suit for the bridal expo in Manila Peninsula. I’ve already worked with them twice, one was for Fashion Watch, and the other for something I’ll tell you real soon… probably next week? Hehe 

A lot of known fashion designers in the country ( Joey Samson, Jojie Lloren, Puey Quinones, Ivarluski Aseron, Cary Santiago, to name a few) participated and showcased their designs in the event.

It’s A Jungle Out There

My second blazer! My friend Tin was sweet enough to model it for me. Thanks, Tin!! Youdabez! The blazer actually looked better on her than on me. Haha 

The blazer has a lot of imperfections and I plan to redo it, probably with a different fabric. 

My House, My Rules, My Pleasure

One fine Monday, Tin and I met up at CDL where we usually do our lab works, and then went around the campus to search for a fresh spot. After circulating UP, we ended up back in CDL and remembered that there was a nice spot at the back of CDL. 

The backdrop was perfect like that skirt.

She actually did that vest. Pretty cool, huh?

BTS| Blanc Magazine

Last December 2011, Blanc Magazine had a shoot in Makati for their new issue which was just released last week.

We shot at Edifice Studios in Pasong Tamo. After that, we decided to go guerilla and headed to The Fort where we had Kit walk around High Street wearing Mark Bumgarner couture lol. It was very fun and exciting.

LEE SS2012 student design competition pre-judging

Last year, I was part of the Lee Style Armies where we had to come up with a collection for Lee’s SS 2011. This time, some of my ‘batchmates’ and I were asked to join the army again… this time, as mentors and junior stylists.

During our time, we battled in groups of 5. Now, they’re up against each other! Each student was tasked to design 2 garments that represented the city assigned to them, at the same time, keeping in mind the aesthetics of Lee Jeans. They were 12 and there were 6 cities which were Manila, Tokyo, Paris, London, Australia and New York.

This is Ja, her collection was inspired by the mimes of Paris!

Break from work

This was days before the Lee Jeans Philippines’ SS 2012 fashion show and we were all busy prepping up! 

Towards the end of the day, we had a mini ‘shoot’ using the awesome lights in LPL.
