A few weeks ago, my family and I went to Baguio, mainly to accompany my dad, but also to escape from the boiling weather back in Manila. It was relatively cold in Baguio, compared to how the weather was back in Manila, but the people who lived there already considered the weather hot. ok.
Here’s my all time favorite, 50’s Diner, which now has it’s second branch! Every time we go to Baguio, we always make sure to eat breakfast here. I’m in love with everything about it, the posters, chairs, and of course, their food!
If I can choose which era to live in, it would undoubtedly be the 50’s, 80,s or 90’s!

Last week, I went to the Metrowear Rocks the Runway show at the Edsa Shangri-La Hotel. Music has always been my constant inspiration for almost everything that I do and when I found out that bands were going to play, I got even more excited. Why haven’t I taken a clue with the event name itself to begin with….

Mak Tumang’s collection reminded me of Lady GaGa’s You and I music video. This collection combined the air and the sea with the use of feathers, beads and seaweed colors.

Jerome Lorico’s collection had a bit of Scotland and Corillera Mountain tribe in it. I just love how the checkered skirts draped.

Last night, Gwen, Rapha and I went to 7th High for the private showing of Francis Libiran’s America’s Next Top Model episode. I was actually so lucky to have had witnessed the Libiran team work on the pieces they sent to ANTM.
So here’s the thing… I had my camera with me but left it inside the car. I know.

There are times when I just want to stop everything that I’m doing, go out and just fool around. I like the feeling of not having to care for anything and just living and enjoying the moment. I don’t believe in taking everything too seriously. There’s always room for fooling around. ;-)
I got this ProudRace tank last year at the Status Yardsale. I’ve been using this one a lot cause it’s light and very comfortable. However, I’ve been getting a lot of judgmental stares when I wear this, probably because of the screaming virgin printed on it. I got the pants from a thrift shop near my school for around 60 pesos.

The thing I hate most about summer is staying in the metro. The excruciating heat is just unbearable! I cannot wait to hit the beach.

I was invited by Francis Libiran (via my friend Gwen) to take photos of his gowns and suit for the bridal expo in Manila Peninsula. I’ve already worked with them twice, one was for Fashion Watch, and the other for something I’ll tell you real soon… probably next week? Hehe
A lot of known fashion designers in the country ( Joey Samson, Jojie Lloren, Puey Quinones, Ivarluski Aseron, Cary Santiago, to name a few) participated and showcased their designs in the event.

Last March 31, my friend Tin invited me to go with her to CSB’s graduation fashion show at Sofitel. Two of our friends and last year’s finalists of Lee Design Competition, Kim and Roan, were a part of the show, and we couldn’t miss it!
We arrived kinda late but still managed catch Kim’s segment. She was fourth.
There were five themes: Afrocentric, Fusion, Bohemian, Futuristic, and Patriotic. The show was full of prints and a lot of them played with red, black and white.

Fashion illustration i did for our merchandising class.
We were grouped and tasked to make a brand and a collection for Spring/Summer 2012.
Our brand’s name is 4 on the Floor, and our collection for SS’12 is entitled Sailor Wolf.
If I’m not mistaken, we will produce these designs and sell them for our practicum, which I will be taking up this summer.

Earlier this day, I went to my 3 year-old cousin’s house to fit the jacket I made on him. I have to say, it wasn’t very easy. He did not want to wear the jacket for so many reasons…
It took me some time to finally convince my cousin to wear the jacket. He would spit on me, tease me into wearing it and then suddenly taking it off, run away… he even went back to his room, got his milk and went to bed… table
It got really messy along the way. I even accidentally bumped the camera on his forehead which caused him to cry and even refuse to wear the jacket more.
Somewhere along the process, I got frustrated and just tried to convince his older sister to model the jacket. She refused to, saying that the jacket was for boys and that she’s not a boy. Of course…
After about 3 hours or so, I lost hope and decided to call my mom to ask the neighbors if they have kids aged 3yo.
I was packing my things when I realized I still had the lollipops I bought at the grocery… So, I decided to, again, try my luck with the kid. While he was playing, I placed the lollipop on top of the table… He stared at it and quickly grabbed it. Thank God my reflex was faster than his reaction… He stared at me and asked me to give it to him. I said he must first wear the jacket and go with me outside… And so he did. Hallelujah
I wasn’t able to get the photos needed for the class which were front, side and back view, but hey, I’m still very happy with the outcome… mainly because he looked like he loved wearing the jacket.

…not really. I’ve been so busy these past weeks with factory visits, reports, papers and projects. All I want right now is to be able to sleep without worrying about deadlines! Well, I don’t really worry about them, but gets?
Surprisingly today, we actually had time to kill, so my friends and I decided to go around and catch some fresh air. Riggght. I brought my cam and Tin insisted to take photos of me… (I actually told her to take photos of me the night before but then I got shy lowl)
Her photography skills are incredible, don’t you think? She actually managed to make me look decent! Haha.
